I believe each of us matters and can live a life that is enjoyable, fulfilling and meaningful. When life doesn’t feel this way, I believe counselling can help to understand why
and support change.
My approach is person-centred, which means I am interested in you and hearing who you are and your experiences and concerns from your perspective.
The person-centred approach believes that each of us has the resources within us to guide us and live a full life, however these may be over ruled by other people’s opinions and instead these direct us. This can create a tension within us and leave us uncertain regarding our decisions and/or unsure who we are. I believe through the therapeutic relationship and the creation of a safe
space, experiences and issues, which are troubling can be explored and awareness and understanding developed, leading to change that you choose. Reconnecting with your internal resources and sense of self.
I am a qualified therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My therapy practice is informed by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I currently work with a charity that provides therapy to survivors of sexual abuse and violence. I have previously work with Mind. I have experience of
working with abuse (emotional, physical, sexual), addiction, anxiety, childhood issues, confidence issues, depression, eating problems, grief and loss, hoarding, identity, loneliness, loss of meaning, rape, relationship issues and suicide.
